How do I create estimates on iOS?

Estimates allow you to create and send an approximate outline of your items or services to your client for approval before beginning the work. Once the estimate is approved by the client, you can easily convert it into an invoice to start collecting payment.

Creating Estimates

You can create estimates on iOS with these steps (or watch this video here):
  1. Once logged into your account, tap on More at the bottom
  2. Then tap on Estimates
    Estimate button.
  3. Next, tap on the + symbol in the top right corner
  4. Create your Estimate as usual, review How do I create an Estimate? for more details
  5. Tap on Add a Client and choose an existing client by typing to search or fill in the blank fields to make a new one
  6. Next, if needed, adjust the Date of Issue and Due Date
  7. Add a Reference field (purchase order number) if needed
  8. Tap on Add a Line to add your items
  9. If needed, tap on Add a Discount
  10. If needed, tap on Add Notes and/or Add Terms to share more information with your client
  11. When you're done, tap on Save at the top right corner
  12. Then tap on the paper plane icon in the top right corner to send the estimate by email, or tap on the left chevron icon in the top left corner to return to the Estimates page. Your created estimate will be saved as a draft.

In the Estimates section, you can also check the status of your estimates to review whether your clients have viewed or accepted an estimate yet:

Accepting an Estimate

When you send an estimate to your client, they receive an email with a link to the estimate and a button to accept it. Only the primary client can accept a proposal when viewing the estimate.
To accept an estimate yourself, you can use the below steps:
  1. Tap on the Estimates icon at the bottom
  2. Tap on the estimate you want to mark as accepted
  3. Tap on the ... symbol at the top

  4. Select Accept and the estimate will now be marked as accepted.

Convert Estimates Into Invoices

Once the estimate has been reviewed by your client, use these steps to convert it into an invoice:
  1. Tap on the Estimates icon at the bottom
  2. Then tap on the estimate you want to convert into an invoice
  3. Tap on the ... symbol at the top

Manage Estimates

In the Estimates section, you can review your list of estimates. To sort them, tap on the up and down arrows to sort in ascending or descending order, or tap on the Sorted By bar above the list of estimates and select either:
  • Client
  • Estimate number
  • Status
  • Amount
  • Estimate date
  • Last updated
 
Tap on any estimate to access additional options: 
  • Options (...)
    • Accept - Mark the estimate as accepted
    • Convert to Invoice - Convert the estimate into an invoice
    • Share as PDF - Send the estimate as a PDF through any app on your phone, or use AirPrint to print your estimate
    • Duplicate - Copy your existing estimate into a brand new estimate
  • Send Estimate - Tap on the plane icon to send the estimate by email
  • Edit - Tap on Edit to modify the estimate
  • Comments and History - Tap on the chat bubbles icon view the history of the estimate, including comments, and to send a comment of your own to the client
