How do I add and manage businesses in my account?

When you first sign up for FreshBooks, your first business or company becomes your primary business. You can add more businesses or companies under the same login and quickly switch between any of them. Each business you set up will run independently from each other - no financial information or any team members you have will be shared between your businesses. The only thing shared between businesses is the same login information.
 
Only two trial businesses can be active at a time, upgrade or delete a business to create more after.
 
 

Add Another Business

To set up another business, use these steps:
  1. Select your business in the top left corner
    Business name in top left corner.
  2. Then select Add or Switch Businesses
  3. If you have multiple businesses already, select Add Business
    Add business button.
  4. Then select the Add Another Business button to confirm
    Create new business button.
  5. Enter in the Business Name, then choose a Country and Industry
    Field for business name, country selector and industry selector for new business.
  6. Select Create My Business and you'll be taken into your brand new account
  7. Then select Ok, Got It to confirm and you can start setting up your new business.
 
Notes:
  • Information in each business is kept separate, including your FreshBooks subscription, online payments, and reports
  • Each new business you create gives you a 30-day trial, and you can upgrade anytime
 

Manage Businesses

You can access your list of businesses, including a shortcut to your Accountant Hub and/or Developer Hub anytime with these steps: 
  1. Select your business in the top left corner
    Business name in top left corner.
  2. Then select Add or Switch Businesses
  3. Select the business you want to switch to and you'll be taken to that business. If you've selected Go to Accountant Hub or Go to Developer Hub, this will open in a new window instead.
 

Delete Businesses

Expired trials and cancelled businesses can be deleted to no longer appear in your business switcher by using the below steps: 
  1. If the business is not an expired trial, ensure the business is cancelled first with the steps in How do I downgrade or cancel my account? here
  2. Select your business in the top left corner
    Business name in top left corner.
  3. Next, select the trash can icon next to the expired trial or cancelled business
    Trash can icon next to business to delete.
  4. Enter in the Business Name to confirm
    Field to type in business name to confirm deletion.
  5. Select Delete and the business will be deleted. You'll be taken to the next active business in the list of businesses available in your account.
 
Note: Deleted businesses can be restored in the future if you change your mind by reaching out to our support team directly.
