When processing online payments through FreshBooks Payments powered by Stripe, there is a transaction fee applied to each payment. Fees vary based on the payment method and card type and are charged only when a payment is processed. The transaction fee is taken out of each payment that is processed before being paid out.
All transaction fees are automatically logged as expenses in your FreshBooks account. You can also review your account-specific pricing and fees directly in your FreshBooks Payments dashboard. Transaction fees are not refunded if a refund is processed.
We recommend checking your transaction fees on a regular basis, such as every 60 days. You can download the Balance Summary report in your FreshBooks Payments account to review fees paid. These regular checks help you stay informed and quickly identify any unexpected changes related to your payments.
