When processing online payments through FreshBooks Payments powered by Stripe, there is a transaction fee applied to each payment. Fees vary based on the payment method and card type and are charged only when a payment is processed. The transaction fee is taken out of each payment that is processed before being paid out.
All transaction fees are automatically logged as expenses in your FreshBooks account. You can also review your transaction fees directly in your Online Payments section. Transaction fees are not refunded if a refund is processed. We recommend checking your transaction fees on a regular basis, such as every 60 days.
