How do I use my dashboard?

The dashboard in your account gives you a quick snapshot of your business’ health and cash flow, as well as a way to quickly invite a team member or create something in your account. Each graph provides a top level view of your data based on your reports, and can be hidden or customized into a specific order of your choosing.
 

Edit Dashboard

You can customize your dashboard by hiding graphs that aren’t relevant to you, as well as repositioning graphs into your preferred order. Your dashboard customization will be remembered every time you log into your account. Use the below steps to hide or rearrange your graphs:
  1. On the Dashboard, select the pencil icon next to Dashboard

  2. In the Edit Dashboard pop-up, either:

    1. Uncheck a box to hide the graph from the dashboard, this will be moved to the bottom of list
    2. Check off a box to make the graph visible on your dashboard
    3. Select and hold down on the :: icon to drag and drop the specific graph in any order
    4. Select Reset to Default to reset the list into the default order with all graphs visible
  3. Select Save to finish and your dashboard will refresh to reflect your changes. 
 

Invite and Create New

Use the Invite or Create New... buttons to quickly get started in your account:

Outstanding Invoices

The Outstanding Invoices graph shows a summary of all overdue and outstanding invoices, as well as your accounts aging totals across intervals. The Total Outstanding is broken down into:

  • Invoices
    • Overdue - Unpaid invoices that have passed their due date
    • Outstanding - Unpaid invoices that have not passed their due date yet
  • Accounts Aging - Total of both overdue and outstanding Invoices in each interval based on age, excluding sales taxes and any deposits paid
 
Notes:
  • Details - Hover over the Overdue or Outstanding bars to view the active and archived invoices making up each total, and select the Overdue or Outstanding links to view a list of invoices for each status
  • Accounts Aging - Select any of the amounts in each interval or the View Accounts Aging Report link to view the specific invoices
  • Currency - Toggle between multiple currencies by selecting the currency next to Outstanding Invoices and choosing any other currency you’ve used previously

Revenue and Expenses

The Revenue and Expenses graph shows the past six months of all revenue and expenses using the Billed (Accrual) accounting method. The summary is broken down into:

  • Revenue
    • Outstanding Invoices - All outstanding or overdue invoices
    • Amount Received - Includes all checkout link payments, invoice payments, and other income entries
  • Expenses
    • Outstanding Bills - All outstanding or overdue bills
    • Amount Spent - Includes all paid bills and expenses including both operating expenses and Costs of Goods Sold (COGS)
 
Notes:
  • Details - Hover over each month to view the specifics making up each amount, or select the Outstanding Invoices or Outstanding Bills link to view a list of invoices or bills making up each total
  • Currency - Toggle between multiple currencies by selecting the currency next to Revenue and Expenses and choosing any other currency you’ve used previously

Monthly Recurring Revenue (Select)

 
The Monthly Recurring Revenue graph is from the Recurring Revenue report, which is available for Select plans only.
 
The Monthly Recurring Revenue graph shows a summary of all recurring revenue from recurring templates and retainers, along with forecasted revenue from your Recurring Revenue - Annual report:

Notes:
  • Details - Hover over each month to view the actual amount (or expected amount if looking at the future), and the percentage increase or decrease compared to the previous month, sales tax is not included when looking at revenue
  • Filters - Select the date range next to Monthly Recurring Revenue to adjust:
    • Date Range - Choose between Last 12 Months, Next 12 Months, or Custom
    • Currency - Toggle between multiple currencies you’ve used previously
  • View Recurring Revenue Annual Report - Select the View Recurring Revenue Annual Report link to view the report matching the filters in your monthly recurring revenue for further details
  • If needed, you can run a Recurring Revenue Details report to view the specific recurring templates and retainers making up each amount
 

Total Profit

The Total Profit graph shows a summary of your Profit and Loss report by visually displaying your profit after any COGS (Costs of Goods Sold) and expenses using the Collected (Cash-Based) accounting method. The Total Profit is broken down into:

  • Sales - Includes all invoice payments, other income and credit notes, excluding sales taxes
  • Less Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) - All expenses marked as COGS, including categories marked as COGS
  • Less Expenses - All expenses and bill payments, including expense refunds
  • Profit - The net profit earned by subtracting COGS and expenses from Profit
 
Notes:
  • Details - Hover over each month to view the specifics making up each amount, or the Total Profit number to view the summarized specifics for that date range
  • Filters - Select the date range next to Total Profit to adjust:

    • Date Range - Defaults to your calendar year or fiscal year end, choose the start and end date if you need to customize
    • Group - Choose between Month or Quarter
    • Currency - Toggle between multiple currencies you’ve used previously
  • View Profit and Loss Report - Select the View Profit and Loss Report link to view the report matching the filters in your Total Profit graph for further details
 

Revenue Streams

The Revenue Streams graph shows a summary of your revenue from each stream. Each stream is broken down into:

  • Invoices - All paid invoices, excluding sales taxes
  • Other Income Category - All other income entries by category
  • Checkout Link Payments - All received Checkout Link payments

  • Details - Hover over any stream to view the specifics that make up each amount, or select the revenue link to view a list of invoices, other income entries, or checkout links making up each total
  • Filters - Select the date range next to Revenue Streams to adjust:

Spending

The Spending graph shows a summary of your spending. All logged expenses are broken down by expense parent category:

  • Filters - Select the date range next to Spending to adjust:

Unbilled Time

The Unbilled Time graph shows a summary of all unbilled time that has not been invoiced back to the client yet. All logged unbilled time entries are broken down by client:

  • Filters - Select the date range next to Unbilled Time to adjust:
